Effective Tips to Grow Your Small Business Locally
Partnerships- Partnering is KING! Many business owners try to do it on their own, and neglect seeking help from mentors, coaches, or other complimentary businesses that they can partner with. I am talking about partnering to share costs, office spaces, shared marketing costs, creating packages together, etc. Possibilities are endless! Networking is for this reason too!
Bartering- Some old school remedies are STILL best. Many times small businesses have small budgets and have to maximize their budgets, and by bartering with other businesses, you both can save on our budget and optimize resources. Many times my customers see me advertise and don;t realize that it is due to bartering, i haven't paid 1 cent for that AD.
Optimize Google- Create a business online profile and using google analytics, google is every business owner’s friend! Plus it’s FREE and the top search engine. Winwin
Email Marketing- As a business coach, the top 5 question i get involves email marketing, Kennette how do I create a email database? Ensure your website collects emails or has an email sign up wizard. Using free email systems like Mail Chimp are ideal if you can’t afford constant contact or others. You should also have your customers sign in for events and in store by offering something.
The Power of a FREE Press release- The media can be your friend and many papers , podcasts , radio shows etc are seeking to interview you, as a business owner to help others or to tell your journey. Submit that media release today! Find that angle!
Launch Event - Don’t underestimate the power of an event! It doesn’t even have to cost a lot, but have advertising, maybe offer launch deals or packages, invite your local politicians and neighborhood. Be sure the focus is on you, your journey, what you have to offer that’s new and different and get customers use to your location. Sample if you can do so. Collect emails here. Invite the media.
Social Media Optimization - Many either underestimate the power still in 2023 of social media. I have seen it work magic in my business and my clients. Some of you may not have the time, and that’s ok- but aim to utilize our staff, family, friends or hire a marketing/social media consultant to assist. Social media is free but using the paid Ads are great for business expansion as well when warranted. You don’t have to be on every channel also, know which channel is best for you. Under 20s, use Snapchat, IG and Tik Tok, over 50s use Facebook and LinkedIn for example, millennials use all especially Instagram.
