So myself like many others today woke up this morning from the weekend ready to create some Instagram posts and got a message that said "your account has been suspended on October 31, 2022". Since it’s Halloween, I thought it was a trick by Instagram, but not the case.

 

Many experienced this today, their accounts just vanished and we want to know why. Crazy! Hopefully this is just a technical issue/glitch I thought to myself this morning (reading the articles online it appears as so) and we won't have to start over from scratch. But, I wanted to take the time like many of my marketing colleagues to stress to entrepreneurs like yourself the importance of building an email list YOU CONTROL for when social media issues like this happens that YOU DON'T CONTROL.

 

This doesn't just happen once in a blue moon, in fact, many celebrities and market leader business accounts get suspended or closed down regularly, or they get HACKED and it can be the worst thing for your brand if that’s your only source of lead generation and advertising. If Covid 2020 has taught us anything, we need to be prepared for the unexpected and the to be expected the same, always having multiple sources, vendors, backup plans we can SHIFT to vs being in a state of “I don’t know what to do!”
